What a great way to start the day! This fine morning I was at the Scottish Police College, Tulliallan, in the Kingdom of Fife.
I was one of the guest speakers at a course on Financial Crime ……. and before you ask, no I was not teaching people how to commit financial crime!
Thank you to the organisers for inviting me and to the delegates for their participation.
This evening sees another interesting event when Raymond visits the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow.
What do you mean you didn’t know that Raymond was a medical man! Allright I am being frivolous again. The great man will be giving a talk and demonstration – sounds grand.
His chosen subject will be breeze presentations; this is the medium that we at CIOBS use for our on-line lectures. I am sure that the medical profession will be so impressed that they will award him an honorary doctorate or something on his way out.
On the other hand maybe they will just tell him to take two aspirin and go home and rest!
I was amazed to learn that it was twenty years ago today that The Bank of England £1 note ceased to be legal tender and was replaced by the £1 coin.
I also realised that, as of tomorrow it will have been seven years since I started my career with CIOBS.
How time flies when you are enjoying yourself.
Our Academy at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh is in full swing this week with delegates attending from all parts of the UK.
The next couple of days see introductory courses taking place here at Drumsheugh House, with a session for Chartered Bankers on Wednesday and Diploma and Certificate students arriving on Thursday.
A very warm welcome to all attendees.
Just a warning though Raymond is taking the Thursday course – so watch out for his newly acquired medical jargon!
