Hi to our regular reader(s)!As the World's Greatest Blogger is on his holidays this week, I have the pleasant duty of doing a little 'spot'.
This week has been particularly busy (but enjoyable!), what with the bold Downey in absentia!
Monday and Tuesday were spent in the company of six students who had to endure my constant chit chat and witty repartee (my words - not theirs!) during the ApEx 1 Revision Course. As always, it was a tough two days for all concerned, but the delegates did manage to stay awake for well over 40% of the course - well done to them!
Additionally, we have been running Revision Courses for some of the Chartered Banker subjects. Thanks to all the lecturers for their help in running these and to the students who attended. I must say however, that it never ceases to amaze me when students turn up to an event that they haven't actually registered for!!
Elsewhere, I have been working on a Newsletter for students undertaking the Chartered Banker qualification and in fact any other qualifications which include Chartered Banker subjects. The content of this Newsletter are still secret, but as you are reading this, I think you deserve a few little 'tasters'. You will find mention of a new subject (which may even be compulsory), the availability of doing your exams on-line and some changes to the assignment procedures, including the word count limit rules!!
Was that an educational, informational, version of insider dealing?
Anyway, what else is going on? Coming up soon, we have what looks like a great event - Communicate! It promises to be a challenging and motivating seminar which aims to improve your communication skills in the workplace (and other places too!)
The event takes place at the Millennium Hotel, Glasgow on 8th May, starting at 8.45am with registration and a light breakfast, with the actual presentation between 9am and 10.30am.
This event costs a ridiculously low £35 for members and £45 for non-members (highly discounted). Members can book online in the “My CIOBS” section of our website www.ciobs.org.uk. Non-members can also book. Any questions? Just contact Ashleigh Edmiston at the CIOBS on 0131 473 7797 or email ashleigh@ciobs.org.uk.
Right! If you haven't had enough of this, I certainly have - I'm off to boil my Easter eggs!
Have a great Easter break!!
Raymond
